Chance for severe weather Wednesday

Precipitation

Residents are advised to monitor the ALERTS page of our website for updates on weather watches and warnings throughout the day.

Breezy and warm conditions are expected Wednesday in the Houston area ahead of a cold front, according to the National Weather Service. For that reason, the greatest risk for severe weather will be across Arkansas and southern Missouri.

All modes of severe weather will be possible, with damaging wind the most prominent threat followed by large hail, tornadoes, heavy rainfall, and deadly lightning. This line of storms will continue to weaken during the overnight as it tracks east. Instability is rather low with the exception of right along the line of storms.

Some scattered strong storms on Friday: Friday's storms are much less certain; they may not even develop over Alabama and Middle Tennessee. Storms will push east of the region this afternoon as a cold front sweeps through the area. There is a 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 p.m.

That means residents in San Augustine, Center, Tenaha, Shelbyville, and northern portions of Toledo Bend have a slightly better chance at seeing this severe threat. A few neighbourhoods may be hit quite hard as flash floods on account of violent storms may be the highlight of the weekend weather wise. Expect a south breeze today between 10 and 20 miles per hour.

Amber Heard And Elon Musk Are Officially A Thing
A recent photo of Amber Heard and Elon Musk was posted by no less than the actress herself in her Instagram account. Amber's divorce from Johnny Depp was finalised in January, while Elon filed for divorce from his wife in 2015.

Friday, the high will be near 67 with mostly cloudy skies, the weather service said.

A few of the storms have been rotating; one storm showed enough on radar to prompt the National Weather Service to issue a Tornado Warning for Lowndes County earlier.

On the positive side, beneficial rain is likely, with most places seeing at least 1 to 2 inches.

While severe weather is possible, I'm not sold on any severe weather locally as the timing and dynamics are unimpressive.

More rain is possible Thursday night, Friday night and Saturday, forecasters said.
