Man sues R. Kelly, says singer ruined his marriage

R. Kelly

Deputy sheriff, Kenny Bryant from Hinds County, Miss. has filed a lawsuit against R. Kelly claiming that the Chicago crooner not only laid with his wife on multiple occasions, but ultimately ended up giving her chlamydia.

But Bryant is accusing Childress and Kelly of rekindling their relationship after she attended one of the "Ignition" singer's shows in 2012. The jilted husband is seeking compensation and punitive damages.

The news outlet also reported that Childress would travel to see the R&B singer in concert and they allegedly had rendezvous, communicated secretly via text and had an intimate relationship.

Representatives of the rhythm and blues star, whose full name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, didn't immediately return requests for comment Thursday.

"Each time R. Kelly would have a concert in a nearby state, Childress would disappear to reunite wit her love", the suit says.

To Bryant's knowledge, the move was actually for his wife and R. Kelly to further pursue their affair.

Yemen's conflict has left 18.8 million people in need of aid, the United Nations says. A Saudi-led military coalition is preparing an assault on Hodeidah.

Bryant claims his wife convinced him to move to Atlanta, Georgia for "her career" but that "the ulterior motive of which was to foster her adulterous relationship with R. Kelly".

However, it wasn't long into their marriage that Bryant knew Childress was seeing someone else - that someone else just happened to be R. Kelly.

MS is one of the few American states that allow spouses to sue others for breaking up their marriages.

Kelly is now touring to promote his albums "The Buffet", his 16th solo or collaborative release since 1992.

Born Robert Kelly, the singer, who is known for hit songs such as 'I Believe I Can Fly, ' has had a checkered legal history.

According to the lawsuit, "Childress was treated for chlamydia during this time period". She did not appear in court on Friday but is expected to give evidence at the trial, which is scheduled to begin on May 22.
