Roseanne Returning With Most Of The Original Cast Already On Board

'Roseanne' Revival On Its Way With Roseanne Barr, John Goodman & Sara Gilbert

Following reboots of Will & Grace, Full House, Gilmore Girls, The X-Files, and freakin' The Magic School Bus, the classic sitcom Roseanne is prepping a return to television. Reports say Netflix as well as ABC, which aired the show's original run, are among the potential landing spots. So far, key actors Roseanne Barr, John Goodman and Sara Gilbert have all signed on to the show, with the rest of the main cast expected to jump on board. "Tom Werner and Bruce Helford will return as executive producers, with Barr and Gilbert also executive producing".

Roseanne, for the uninitiated, was a sitcom that, from from 1988 until 1997, gave an accurate portrayal, for the time, of a working class family. Rumor has it Johnny Galecki, who's now raking in the dough on The Big Bang Theory, would also reprise his role as Darlene's (Gilbert) boyfriend.

While the series is now fielding network offers, what Roseanne fans want to know most is who will show up in front of the cameras.

While the revival series doesn't now have a home, Deadline is reporting that several networks are bidding on it.

We truly do live in the era of the reboot, as it's been announced via Deadline that there's now a Roseanne reboot in the works.

The show will reportedly be an eight-episode limited series. I'm looking forward to seeing the next chapter.

John Goodman recently spoke out about his willingness to star in a Roseanne reboot.

The question on many fans' minds is how they will explain away the death of Goodman's family patriarch, Dan. "The big 'R" and I did a pilot about five years ago that didn't go anywhere'.

So far, there's no word on what the possible storyline for the new show would be but Barr previously tossed around a few ideas.
