Islamic State group claims deadly Manchester concert bombing

A blast on Monday night at a concert in the northern English city of Manchester where US singer Ariana Grande had been performing left an unknown number of people dead and injured, police said.

Eight-year-old Saffie Rose Roussos went to the concert with her mum Lisa Roussos and sister Ashlee Bromwich, who were both injured and taken to separate hospitals. According to the Evening Standard, Callander passed with her mother at her bedside and had met Grande on one of the singer's previous visits to the United Kingdom.

The Dangerous Woman Tour is the third concert tour by Grande and supports her third studio album, "Dangerous Woman". She tweeted, "Broken. From the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry".

Sources tell CBS News the attacker has been identified as 23-year-old Salman Abedi. "We are further investigating what happened". "I don't have words", she wrote.

Police, however, have spoken only of "an improvised device" used in the attack.

Palestinians say moving the embassy would be a de facto recognition of Israel's control of all Jerusalem . The area now houses the Al Aqsa Mosque, Islam's third-holiest site.

Isis has now claimed responsibility for the bombing, which took place at the end of the concert when the audience was streaming toward the exits.

This has been the most horrific incident we have had to face in Greater Manchester and one that we all hoped we would never see.

"Manchester Evening News readers have been asking how they can help, so we have started this fund to help support the families in the aftermath of the attack", the description of the campaign on fundraising site JustGiving says.

Following the bombing, many people have used Twitter for good causes, including spreading images and details about missing people such as 29-year-old Martyn Hett. "I know, even during my short time here, that the people of Manchester will pull together as one".

Previous attacks in Europe and the USA have been claimed by individuals who support ISIS and have made contact with its members, but who were not directly supported or guided by the terror network.
