NBA Draft rumors: Lakers still 'undecided' on Lonzo Ball at No. 2

Does Hield's All-Rookie selection mean more good fortune for the Kings?

The choice that seemed inevitable is the one the Lakers made.

The Los Angeles Lakers tipped their hand two days ago, and the franchise made it official Thursday night, when it selected former UCLA star Lonzo Ball with the second pick in the NBA Draft.

The L.A. native Ball gets his wish as he will continue to play in his hometown for the Lakers.

The Philadelphia 76ers selected Markelle Fultz of Washington with the No. 1 overall pick.

Ball and the Lakers have always been seen as the likely pairing, but the Lakers did their due diligence along the way.

You can see Gloria Allred's press conference below. "If the court allows more accusers to testify.it might make a difference". Allred said that "we can never underestimate the blinding power of celebrity" and vowed that "justice will come".

For a time, there appeared to be a genuine split within the Lakers as whether to draft Ball or Jackson, but as the Draft approached, the Lakers began settling in on Ball as their man.

The Lakers traded former lottery pick D'Angelo Russell earlier this week, opening the door for Ball to start.

The Big Baller Brand is headed to the National Basketball Association.

Can Ball overcome any defensive issues well enough to elevate the Lakers' execution on that end after they struggled to do so in recent seasons?

Despite possessing an unorthodox shot, Ball was considered one of the best playmakers in the draft after averaging 14.6 points, 7.6 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game at UCLA. The Lakers brought in each of the four in for individual workouts, including Ball. Now, Johnson believes Ball can do the same thing.
