Neill Blomkamp releases first trailer for 'Oats Studios' experimental shorts

Watch The First Trailer For District 9 Director's New Short Film Coming To Steam

The District 9 and Elysium director released a trailer for some of the studio's upcoming projects, which will be released to Steam in the next couple of months. It's first trailer also shows off a lizard-like creature, as well as a voice-over stating "The new world altered everyone". Blomkamp's best known efforts are all set amidst science fiction dystopias in which aliens and robots often play large roles, from Chappie's armour-plated attack androids to District 9's sickly extraterrestrials. I honestly feel that Blomkamp is one of the most engaging sci-fi directors working today, so seeing this trailer brings me nothing but joy.

Whatever Oat Studios ends up being, we'll find out in the near future - the first volume is supposedly streaming "soon", according to the teaser. Blomkamp's short films-about an invasion of reptilian aliens-should make an excellent addition. While details about plot and cast are still kept under wraps, viewers notice two actresses in the teaser which very look like Dakota Fanning and Sigourney Weaver. The idea is to sell his short films on digital video game retailer Steam as tests for potential full feature films. The female narrator hints that the invaders came to exterminate humanity, and that the only choice is to adapt or die.

LeBron James calls his pursuit of Michael Jordan a 'personal goal'
In the last meeting, All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving came to life in the second half to pilot the Cavaliers to a 112-99 victory. Given their bevy of assets and promising young players, the Celtics are in good position to be a strong team for quite some team.

The projects will delve in the supernatural, from aliens to monsters, which isn't entirely surprising given Blomkamp's history, especially as he got his start with a short film about aliens, Alive in Joburg (Later District 9). Most importantly, check out this very cool teaser trailer and let us know what you think!
