Trump to meet with Putin at G-20 summit next week

Russian President Putin speaks over the phone with Turkish President Erdogan while he inspects the work on the Turkish Stream gas pipeline project aboard the Pioneering Spirit pipeline-laying ship in the Black Sea near Anapa

Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump will have the chance to talk personally very soon, said Sergei Lavrov, meaning the next week's G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany.

Trump will also meet with other world leaders, national security adviser H.R. McMaster said.

Allegations that Russian Federation interfered in the US presidential election previous year and colluded with the Republican's campaign have overshadowed the businessman's unexpected victory and dogged his first five months in office.

The two nations are also at odds over the civil war in Syria where Moscow supports President Bashar al-Assad.

"Our relationship with Russian Federation is no different than any other country", McMaster said.

Mr Trump and his administration have repeatedly denied any collusion with Moscow, with Mr Putin also denying any hacking on behalf of Russian Federation.

Sports Illustrated trolls Trump over fake Time magazine cover
Since becoming president, Trump has visited the club on multiple occasions, including this past weekend. Even the barcode is a giveaway on the fake.

The Trump administration's vexed relationship with Russian Federation, including contacts between some of the president's senior advisers and Moscow, has faced intense scrutiny amid a cascade of media revelations and a series of official investigations, including by special counsel Robert Mueller.

They say the issue is not Trump himself, but the stand-off inside the US political system which, they say, means the USA president is liable to be attacked by domestic opponents if he makes any overtures towards Russian Federation.

"They will meet" on the sidelines of the G20, Mr Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, but added that "no preparations" are being made for any separate meeting at the moment. Such concessions could include returning two diplomatic compounds in the U.S. to Russian Federation or lessening sanctions. US intelligence officials have said that Russian operatives stole emails and other documents from leading Democrats and released them publicly to embarrass Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and help Trump.

In the Trump's book "The Art of the Deal", he proclaimed one of his mottos to be, "You do your thing, you hold your ground, you stand up tall, and whatever happens, happens".

"Our relationship is at an all-time low, and it's been deteriorating further".

"We believe that the meeting will take place since the two presidents will be in the same city, in the same building, at the same time".
