FBI investigating explosion outside Air Force recruiting center near Tulsa Okla. as domestic terror

Tulsa police's bomb squad responded to a U.S. Air Force recruiting center in Bixby late Monday night for a reported explosion.

The explosion had damaged the door of the building. Authorities declined to specify the nature of the device. The FBI and ATF are now investigating the incident but they have not determined if this is an act of domestic terrorism. Terrorism of some type has not been ruled out as the motive behind the bombing in Bixby.

Investigators will also reconstruct the explosive device, the agent said. The extent of the damage is not yet known.

An explosion struck a US Air Force recruiting office in northeast Oklahoma - the second time a recruitment center in the area was attacked in recent days, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said.

The blast took place around 10.30pm local time (4.30pm GMT) in Bixby, which lies around 15 miles to the south of Tulsa. They have witnesses who reported a motorcycle seen leaving the area, and agents are following up on that lead, she said.

No arrests have been made following the incident which is being "investigated as a possible act of domestic terrorism", officials said. The explosion happened while the office was closed and no one was there.

"At this point we don't know if it was a disgruntled employee, an act of domestic terrorism, just someone playing games", Rice said.
