Patton Oswalt engaged to marry actress Meredith Salenger

Patton Oswalt Meredith Salenger

Salenger, 47, and Oswalt, 48, made their love connection common knowledge when they appeared on the red carpet for Edgar Wright's "Baby Driver" in June.

Oswalt is a comedian whose film and TV credits include Magnolia, Ratatouille, HBO's Veep and CBS' The King of Queens.

And Salenger hinted at their engagement on Instagram Wednesday, writing, "Once upon a time... in 2008... at my friend's wedding..." She even gave a shout-out to Alice Oswalt, Patton's daughter by McNamara.

When I saw today the news that Patton Oswalt had gotten engaged to actress Meredith Salenger just 15 months after his wife of 10 years passed away, I hoped the Internet doubters and haters would for once keep to themselves.

Oswalt married his first wife, true crime writer Michelle McNamara in 2005.

Ubisoft Releases New In-Engine Demo for Beyond Good and Evil 2
Unfortunately, it isn't yet clear how far you will be able to zoom in or out when the game is actually released. The brief reveal teaser offered was a CGI video, offering very little information on how the game would play.

Oswalt has been open and honest about the grief he's experienced since, but judging by the happy posts on both his and Salenger's Twitter and Instagram feeds, their relationship seems to have had a very positive impact on them both.

He won an Emmy past year for his comedy special Patton Oswalt: Talking for Clapping. "She's still so tied into our worlds, in a way that's encouraging and energizing", he wrote on April 21, almost one year after her passing.

"Removing the ring was removing the last symbol of denial of who I was now, and what my life is, and what my responsibilities are."

The news initially came from a source who told People that the pair began seeing each other after they had become friends. "They started chatting as friends and it blossomed from there".

Salenger is perhaps best known for her breakout role in the 1985 Disney classic The Journey of Natty Gan. He said that he and McNamara had not been aware that there was something wrong with her heart. Fifteen months ago she tragically died in her sleep.
