Google fired an employee who penned a controversial sexist memo

Former U.S. CTO on Silicon Valley's Diversity Battle

Google CEO Sundar Pichai also sent a letter to employees saying that the memo violated the company's Code of Conduct by advancing "harmful gender stereotypes" because the memo listed biological issues that prevented women from climbing the corporate ladder and being as successful as their male counterparts in the tech industry. "The problem is so hard to unearth, in part, because mostly people keep quiet".

This instance has become a debatable issue among the other companies and in Google, that gender discrimination is not acceptable, and more strict points should be added in the norms of the company to avoid such circumstances in future.

While many have described Damore's memo as inherently sexist, a number of conservatives have rushed to his defense.

. Ellis actually left the company in 2014, she says, because she was sexually harassed. "People must feel free to express dissent", Pichai continued. But that move alone doesn't mean the company is free from sexism.

While Americans enjoy citing their First Amendment right to freedom of speech, there are some boundaries in the workplace.

"I have a legal right to express my concerns about the terms and conditions of my working environment and to bring up potentially illegal behaviour, which is what my document does", Damore told the New York Times.

In his email to Reuters on Monday, Damore suggested Google may have retaliated against him for filing a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board shortly before he was sacked.

Likely to be integral to the case is the question of whether Damore and employees like him can expect protection under the labor relations act around "protected concerted" activities.

Hungary not interested in attracting European Union institutions from London after Brexit
Cities interested in the banking authority include Brussels , Dublin, Frankfurt, Paris, Prague, Luxembourg, Vienna and Warsaw. While they are allowed to vote for themselves they are also expected to take the commission's assessments into account.

'It's demoralizing, ' one anonymous worker said.

"It's just embarrassing for Google", he continued.

In its latest diversity report, Google said 31 percent of its employees are women and that women represent 20 percent of the company's tech workers, up from 17 percent three years ago.

"As a private company, Google has the right to discipline employees for their speech or for violations of their code of conduct", Rowland said.

Over the weekend, the software engineer published "Google's Ideological Echo Chamber" where he argued that men were simply better suited to work in demanding IT jobs. Moreover, the company is now being investigated by the U.S. Department of Labor over allegations it did not fairly pay female employees.

At the end of the day, the tech industry has a diversity problem and the only way to fix it is by hearing from all sides - however much you may disagree with them. "I guarantee this is the struggle they have inside the company: People who want to come out really strong against this manifesto and say there isn't a place for this at Google" while still maintaining "that an opinion shouldn't jeopardize your job", she told Wired. "That includes not firing them for politely expressing ideas but rather arguing back". Show them examples of women that are apparently superhuman because their brains work at a higher biological standard than what they believe is possible - some of these members of the X-Men just so happen to be the bosses of people with these views.
