President Trump himself crafted his son's misleading Russian Federation statement

President Trump himself crafted his son's misleading Russian Federation statement

Sarah Sanders, White House Press Secretary, told a news conference on Tuesday: "He certainly didn't dictate (the statement), but. he weighed in, offered suggestion like any father would do".

The Washington Post dropped an absolute bombshell on Monday night: President Donald Trump dictated the initial statement from his son, Don Jr., regarding a June 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer and publicist Rob Goldstone, who had promised the younger Trump dirt on Hillary Clinton's campaign courtesy of the Russian government.

But that changed when the president made a decision to personally dictate the statement himself, suggesting the meeting with the Russian lawyer was to discuss "a program about the adoption of Russian children".

There are now so many inquiries, "it's become genuinely hard to keep up with all the different government investigations related to his presidential campaign's ties to Russian Federation and its attempts to sway the 2016 election", Vox reports.

As the Post pointed out, it's not illegal to mislead journalists, but the president's involvement could attract more attention from Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating any ties between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign.

According to the Post, Trump "overruled the consensus" of his advisers to be as transparent about the meeting as possible, which Wright said "demonstrates ill intent" on the president's part.

However, this account is misleading (at best), as Trump Jr.

Govt encouraging mob lynching, says Opposition
To make their case, they cited the lynching of Srinagar deputy superintendent of police (DySP) Ayub Pandith on June 23. He said, it is for States to take action against people involved in violent incidents in their areas.

The New York Times writes on Trump's penchant for warring with the Senate.

Even so, the Post's revelations are a bombshell, because they show how personally and hands-on Trump is involved with Russian matters as they concern his family and his Presidential campaign.

The White House did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment on the Post story, nor did Trump Jr.'s attorney, Alan Futerfas.

This meeting took place in his offices, in the company of the son-in-law of the current president, Jared Kushner, and his campaign manager, and Paul Manafort. "One after another on Monday, top GOP senators said that with no evidence of a plan that could get 50 votes, they were looking for other victories".

Said an anonymous adviser to the Post, "Now someone can claim he's the one who attempted to mislead".

It comes as Mueller has already expanded his inquiry to include the issue of whether or not Trump was engaging in a possible obstruction of justice when he fired James Comey, having tried and failed to persuade the then director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to back off investigating former national security adviser Michael Flynn's contacts with Russian officials.

Before Sanders' comments White House officials had declined to say if they had a response to multiple police departments criticizing Trump's law-and-order speech in NY.
