Taylor Swift expected to testify in groping case in Denver

Taylor Swift

Jury selection begins on Monday for Taylor Swift's court case, continuing the 27-year-old singer's legal battle with Denver, Colorado, radio host David Mueller, that's been going on since 2015. According to USA Today, Mueller's attorney will be raising the question of mistaken identity as well as claiming that Swift only filed a lawsuit when David Mueller filed on in 2015.

In her deposition past year, Swift described the incident in detail, explaining how in 2013 the Denver disc jockey allegedly reached his hand up her skirt and groped her backstage at her concert at the Pepsi Centre in Denver. Swift and Mueller are both smiling in the picture.

While Mueller said in depositions that his damages amount to some $3 million, Swift wants compensatory, actual and punitive damages in an amount to be proven at trial, but also a verdict that holds Mueller responsible for the alleged assault.

Finally, jurors were asked if they or anyone in their immediate family are fans of Taylor Swift, and if they had recently listened to our purchased any of her music.

Swift counter-sued the following month for assault and battery, saying in her complaint that he "took his hand and put it up my dress and grabbed onto my ass cheek".

The basis for Mueller's suit stemmed from the money he was making prior to being fired-reportedly around $150,000 base salary, plus various bonuses-and his belief he had not touched Swift inappropriately at any time.

She is asking that attorney's fees and costs be paid for by Mueller along with compensatory damages to be proven at trial.

The meeting between Swift and Mueller took place during Swift's concert at the Pepsi Center on June 2, 2013. The pair met Swift during a backstage meet and greet.

Mr. Mueller, who is scheduled to testify, has repeatedly denied groping Ms.

This is a sexual assault trial, period, because it involves a woman's claim she was groped by someone else against her will. Swift might appear. The presiding judge, William J. Martínez, has warned anyone who hopes to attend to refrain from wearing clothing "bearing the name or likeness of any of the parties". Other than that, it's basically his word against hers.
