Walmart Products Can Now be Purchased on Google

The Google Home smart home device

In an announcement on the company's blog, Walmart CEO and President Marc Lore revealed how the two companies want to improve your online shopping experiences.

The partnership is the largest now offered by any retailer through Google's platform, Lore notes.

Through Google Assistant, a customer would be able to place orders based on previous purchases that were bought through Wal-Mart's Easy Reorder feature. Or you went to the store only to realize they didn't have the brand you wanted? Using Google's shopping service Google Express, customers will be able to take advantage of Walmart's special "Easy Reorder" feature.

"Starting today", said Ramaswamy, "we're offering free delivery on Google Express as long as your order is above each store's minimum". Wal-Mart said customers will need to link their Wal-Mart accounts to Google Express to be able to participate in the service.

The search giant had previously partnered with Costco, Target, and other retailers to bring those shopping experiences to Google Assistant.

The retail giant is teaming up with Google to offer voice shopping across the U.S.

And as The New York Times notes: "Google is a laggard in e-commerce. It's the flawless marriage".

Lamborghini Alpha-One smartphone launched at $2450
The company is selling the smartphone on its website at the time of writing and the phone is available for worldwide markets. Lamborghini Alpha One comes with a microSD expandable storage slot so that users can add up to 128 GB of additional storage.

Walmart says it will be tapping its 4,700 USA stores and its fulfillment network next year to offer more kinds of customer experiences using voice shopping. There are also plans to incorporate voice shopping that will enable the customers to list the groceries they want by voice to the Google Assistant and it will be made available ready for pickup at the store.

Indeed, even with its brick-and-mortar assets, Wal-Mart still has a tough fight on its hands with Amazon, which dominates the e-commerce market more than ever. We know this means being compared side-by-side with other retailers, and we think that's the way it should be.

Walmart, which owns the Asda chain of United Kingdom supermarkets, will offer customers a discount on picking up their items in store.

Wal-Mart has joined forces with Google to offer a voice ordering option for shoppers. Amazon customers like that the Echo can make recommendations based on their Amazon order histories, but the site doesn't have information on what users buy in physical stores.

The service is available across the US. Wal-Mart also is using its own vehicles to deliver groceries in San Jose, Calif., and Denver. That is not all as Wal-Mart will also have on offer the largest and most diverse range of products.

An afternoon recap of the day's most important business news, delivered weekdays.

"Voice shopping is becoming a more important part of everyday shopping behaviour", said Marc Lore, chief executive of Wal-Mart's U.S. e-commerce business, Associated Press reported.
