Apple September 12 event confirmed new iPhone incoming

The invites are out and the date is official: Apple's big iPhone 8 event will be happening on September 12th, and we'll finally get to see what the button-free, full-screen future of the the most iconic smartphone looks like. Unlike prior media invites, the tagline is most likely just a direct reference to the venue for the event as opposed to a cryptic clue to what Apple will be announcing.

The event will take place on Tuesday 12th September at the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, starting at 10am local time, which is 6pm United Kingdom time.

The hidden specs appear to confirm the handset will have a facial recognition system and a bezel-free screen.

"Apple likes to position its entry-level products at the mid-market with "Pro/Plus" products close to competitors at the high end".

It's expected that the tech giant will reveal a barrage of products during the keynote presentation, including a new, more expensive iPhone that features a almost bezel-less display and new facial recognition technology, as well as an iterative update to the current iPhone 7 - likely the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus.
