Iran Tests New Ballistic Missile Despite US Warning

During speech to the UN General Assembly on Tuesday President Donald Trump hinted that the'rogue state of Iran is still racing toward the completion of a nuclear weapon

The launch comes after US President Donald Trump told world leaders at the United Nations this week that the 2015 nuclear agreement with Iran was "an embarrassment" and "one of the worst" deals the US had ever struck.

Speaking during Friday's parade, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Tehran would press ahead with strengthening its missile capabilities and military defenses, Press TV reported.

It's been known that Iran has had a missile with a range capable of reaching Israel, said Mark Fitzpatrick, executive director of the Institute for Internal Strategic Studies-Americas, a think tank.

"We will strengthen our defence and military capabilities. whether you want it or not", Rouhani said, a direct response to Trump's speech at the UN General Assembly this week.

To put the missile's range in perspective, consider that the minimum range of an intercontinental ballistic missile is generally considered to be 5,500 kilometers (3,400 miles), while a medium-range missile can fly between 1,000 and 3,000 kilometers.

The new missile is capable of carrying several warheads and was on display yesterday in a military parade.

"Khorramshahr with an effectual range and unique qualities features an agile missile", Brigadier General Amir Hatami was quoted as saying. "Israel will defend itself with the full force of our arms and the full power of our convictions", Netanyahu said at the UN.

At Least 8 Dead At Florida Nursing Home After Irma
Our focus right now is getting every nursing home in the state back to full operations, so we can meet the needs of our residents. Florida officials and utilities report Thursday afternoon that 2.31 million homes and businesses are still without power.

Tehran stated Saturday that it has successfully tested the new ballistic missile Khorramshahr, which was unveiled yesterday during a military parade.

Friday's reported missile test is the latest in a series of launches. "Iran is conducting a campaign of conquest across the Middle East and Iran is developing ballistic missiles to threaten the entire world".

Iran maintains that testing non-nuclear ballistic missiles is not a violation of the JCPOA.

The prospect of Washington reneging on the deal has anxious some of the USA allies that helped negotiate it, especially as the world grapples with North Korea's nuclear and ballistic missile development. We will not seek permission from anyone to defend our country.

Previous Iranian missile launches have triggered United States sanctions and accusations that they violate the spirit of the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and major powers.

Rouhani has stated that this Trump government is looking to get "an excuse" to get out from the landmark 2015- nuclear arrangement which topped Iran's atomic activities in substitution for the lifting of worldwide actions against Iran.

Later on Friday, Iranians staged anti-Trump protest to show their anger over the US president's speech.
