Thomas Lemar breaks silence on failed Premier League move

There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Alexis Sanchez this summer and it looks like the lack of Champions League action may finally drive the Chilean away from the Emirates

Monaco star Thomas Lemar has commented on the reported £92 million (R1.53 billion) transfer to Arsenal that failed to materialise on deadline day.

However, the Frenchman reignited his interest while Arsenal also softened their stance over selling Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City when an improved £60m bid was tabled.

The BBC's David Ornstein went on both Twitter and the radio yesterday to discuss how Arsenal lacks money to do the deals fans have been promised before the transfer window closes today.

It wasn't all bad for Arsenal, who managed to hold on to their most prized possession, Sanchez.

Wenger said: 'It's dead because Monaco has closed the door.

"No games now so I hope you can enjoy the next five or six days with all the rumours and all that stuff".

Angels Trade For Outfielder Justin Upton
He's young enough and potentially under control until 2022, so he *could* sit alongside Trout in the lineup for years to come. According to multiple reports, the Detroit Tigers have traded Justin Upton to the Los Angeles Angels for two minor leaguers.

Punters think the Gunners will move again for the Monaco winger if they sell their wantaway star player to Man City.

Thomas Lemar was keen on joining Liverpool.

The £92 million Hail Mary for Monaco's Thomas Lemar smacked of desperation and, with the player on worldwide duty for France, the approach was just too late in the day to get anything done.

"The player has chosen to stay at Monaco", Wenger told beIN Sports. "I do not want to talk too much".

The 21-year-old has been regularly linked with a move to the north London club over the past couple of months but Arsenal were thought to have given up on signing Lemar last week.

"Now I'm going to make a good season with my club, to try to progress and move forward in my career with Monaco".
